A total of 14 Breeders Cup World Championship races were held at Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky, on Friday Nov. 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7, and at the end of the event, eight of the winners descended for the unmatched Seattle Slew.

The Slew Crew congratulates the winners and their connections on the wonderful victories and performances.

11/26/16 - Six Seattle Slew Progeny Win at Breeders' Cup

Six of the big winners at Santa Anita Park during the two-day Breeders' Cup World Championships Nov. 4 and 5 descend from the 10th and only undefeated Triple Crown winner. The Slew Crew congratulates the winners and all their connections.

Five-year-old TOURIST (Tiznow) captured the $2 million Breeders' Cup Mile (G1) by a half-length on Nov. 5, outrunning 13 other top turf stars in a fantastic performance. Racing in midpack early while saving ground, he inched clear deep in the stretch and held off the late closers for the biggest win of his career. He stopped the clock in 1:31 3/5 for a mile over the firm turf, mi... [more]

5/21/16 - Exaggerator, great-grandson of Seattle Slew, Wins the Preakness

Three-year-old EXAGERRATOR (Curlin), winner of the Santa Anita Derby (G1) earlier this year, added to his resume with a fantastic run in the 141st Preakness Stakes (G1) over a sloppy Pimlico main track on May 21.

Breaking nicely from the number five hole, Exaggerator and jockey Kent Desormeaux allowed the early speed runners to clear them before diving inside to settle into an easy pace along the rail. Saving ground off the pace, the dark bay/brown colt increased his tempo down the backstretch to gain on the leaders setting a fast pace, and he had moved into contention as the field approached the final turn. Exagg... [more]

5/6/16 - Cathryn Sophia Earns Oaks Lilies

Before a record Kentucky Oaks (G1) day crowd, CATHRYN SOPHIA (Street Boss) won the day's signature event while leading two other Seattle Slew-related fillies across the wire for a fantastic trifecta.

A full field of 14 fillies lined up for the $1 million Kentucky Oaks. Cathryn Sophia, who was coming off the first loss of her career, broke well and then settled into a stalking position in fourth behind the pacesetters. She maintained her position down the backstretch and then launched her bid in the final turn. Sweeping into the stretch four-wide, the bay filly would not be denied as she charged to the front and re... [more]

11/1/15 - Runhappy, Mongolian Saturday Represent Slew at Breeders' Cup

Three-year-old RUNHAPPY (Super Saver) set a new track record at Keeneland on Oct. 31 when he captured the $1.5 million Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1) by three-quarters-of-a-length. The bay colt raced just off the pace before closing furiously down the stretch to stop the clock in 1:08 2/5 for six furlongs over the fast main track.

From the first crop of Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Super Saver (Maria's Mon), who is out of Supercharger (A.P. Indy), Runhappy has now won three graded tests this season: the King's Bishop Sakes (G1) at Saratoga, which he won in stakes record time, and the Phoenix Stakes (G3) during Keeneland'... [more]
